  What is the exception? I read that the book was highly flawed and often inaccurate, yes. Other researchers have come to the same conclusions, though.

  As it should be, as that's Due Process. If he didn't have any criminal background, a tighter process wouldn't have done anything.

 True, there are restrictions would could do good. But most of these shooters don't have criminal backgrounds and were not criminals AT THAT TIME!

The guy at Sandy Hook for instance, he was raised in a gun culture and we know that he had some problems. Should parents get in trouble before then for allowing access, for not locking them away or for not having them?

  Yes, absolutely! And had she not been shot or killed, she most likely would have been charged with negligence.

It is more important that everybody have as many guns as possible than worrying about the killings that do have because of access. .>

 No, that's kind of a strawman. The whole problem with this is that preventing people from getting guns is not fair and harmful to LAW-ABIDING citizens.
