There were 2 men who refused to order anything to drink or eat. They refused to leave, they used the facilities.

The police were called and asked them 3 times to leave. They refused and were arrested for trespassing.

The police have stood by their guys, rightly so.

This isn't a colour problem. If I was taking up space and not paying for a service, I would expect to get arrested.

I honestly know next to nothing about this story to make a good call one way or another. Starbucks can ask people to leave, but it is an odd situation. Without somebody being disruptive I do not see a need for police. The reason they are asked to leave is probably more important.

They did act jerkishly in not just leaving or just ordering something though. A store can ask somebody to leave under the right circumstances.

I think that it gets a little harder though because it is quite common for people to buy a coffee and hang out there for hours on end. Does one coffee balance out that they are taking up space for that long and not getting other things? They are not a library or public space.

That makes it a bit strange to me.
