Related to the topic below, but that thread is already full.

Have you ever been asked to leave a business for not buying anything?

A group of us decided to eat at TGI Fridays the night we saw Black Panther. It was a Saturday, and three of us arrived before the others. We were escorted to our table and waited half an hour without ordering anything before the rest of our party showed.

In short, no. I usually either buy, or say that I'm waiting on someone, at which point I'm left alone.

I have. When I was a teenager, we used to try to hang out places without buying stuff. I was asked to leave. And I didn't wait for them to call the cops.

Well yeah. You just admitted to wrong-doing, so of course you're gonna feel the guilt of being caught and leave.

Did you suspect they asked you to leave for any other reason?

To add, according to their account, the two guys didn't even know the manager had called the cops on them.

I've seen people told to leave fast food establishments for just using the free wi-fi or using it for a meeting. I though nothing of it.

Not counting the homeless, I've never seen anyone asked to leave for using the restaurant's services. For being rude or disruptive, sure, but never for simply being there. Barnes & Noble, Panera Bread Co, Starbucks; I've sat at them all for hours doing homework, while others used wifi over nothing but drinks. Never saw anyone asked to leave.

I'm just trying to see if this is a normal thing or not. General curiosity.

From my experience, no. If you buy or say you're waiting on another party, most places leave you be.

Atrimus, I keep trying to reply to you but get spam notices. So i guess this conversation is done:-(
