Related to the topic below, but that thread is already full.

Have you ever been asked to leave a business for not buying anything?

I have. When I was a teenager, we used to try to hang out places without buying stuff. I was asked to leave. And I didn't wait for them to call the cops.

I've seen people told to leave fast food establishments for just using the free wi-fi or using it for a meeting. I though nothing of it.

I'm just trying to see if this is a normal thing or not. General curiosity.

I can't say I have, but I can only think of one time where I would have been in a place for a couple of hours without buying anything. I met with someone else to go over a project we were working on. We were probably there for a couple of hours, I don't think either of us bought anything and we were not disturbed.

So when say this sort of thing would happen when you were a teenager, how long would you be hanging out before you were asked to leave? Do you think it was ever for less than five minutes?
