I don't believe you is the thing. I don't think you really equate Zeus in line with the God of the Bible and if you grew up a Muslim, with Allah. You say it's true but I don't believe it. You have too much resentment and people don't resent the way you do unless somewhere deep down there's a tinge of doubt, even if just 1%.

You don't believe me? That's okay. I understand it may be as difficult for you NOT to believe in a god as it is for me TO believe in one.

I grew up in a household where religion and superstition simply wasn't a thing. Neither of my parents were religious. We never set foot in a church except for weddings and funerals. We never owned a bible. Religion was never a topic of discussion, with only two or three exceptions I can recall. None of my childhood friends were religious. I didn't get any sort of religious education until I was twelve, and then I was in turns sceptical and repulsed by what I was learning.

I honestly lump all gods - all supernatural beings - in the same category. There's no difference in my mind between Yaweh, Jupiter and Vishnu.

And Jesus? He's on the same footing as Dracula: A real person who's had legendary tales told about them (Before you ask, no I don't rate their level of importance as anywhere near being equal).

Do I have some resentment? Yes. But it's a common error of believers to confuse what non believers have resentment against. We don't resent gods. We don't believe they exist. We do often resent the religions that form around these myths.
