Not sure if appropriate for the board, but I'm currently debating between two of Tolkien's posthumous works: The Children of Hurin, or The Fall of Gondolin.
There are not too many of them, unless I just do not know of them. The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books. Also the Simirilian. The later is not needed to enjoy the first two at all. It is almost better to read it after LoTR because it gives more depth to the setting and cosmology.
Hobbit is written more for children but it is still quite enjoyable. I do not mean like a little kid but it is more light hearted than the LotR books get.
