With all the ups and downs over the past couple of years due to Covid I was curious on how it effected posters on these boards. News stories report the lockdowns actually helping some people while negatively effecting others.

I mean nothing too major other than not going out other than to work. It was a benefit in lowering our infection risk I guess.

For me, I work in retail so my place of work stayed open. The negatives on it were an increased workload along with a higher rate of turnover than average over the past few years. One thing I never expected to happen is the change in attitude among the public. Usually, anyone working in retail regardless of position is kind of looked own upon. All of a sudden we are deemed "essential" workers which is something I never expected to happen.

My brother said the same thing although he was still not treated very well as far as I understand it. And stores are pretty variable in terms of compensating essential employees.

On the personal side, I became a hermit. I've never been the most extroverted of people so the few social activities I participated in were shut down. The few I was trying to get involved in like going to the gym or monthly movie membership plans were closed. Not much to do for months except stay home. On the plus side, I got back into my love of video games.

Not going out and seeing friends and family was the biggest thing for me as well. Moreso friends. We tried to see close family when we could decrease risk but saw them far less than normal.

I missed going to the movies but an alternative I found was the drive ins. Granted, harder to hear and not the same experience but it did help. I look forward to going back.

I was mostly fine, there were downsides to it with not being able to go out though.
