Mine are all from the 70s or late 60s. How about you?

Here are mine. These are the songs that make me stop and listen, and almost make me want to genuflect.

Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil (1968)

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (1971)

Rush - 2112 (1976)

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird (1973)

Yes - Roundabout (1971)

Since I was 3, I always preferred up-tempo songs, and that hasn't changed much as I got older although I am a little more flexible now.

So my top 5 songs are all up-tempo, with the exception of the last one which has a more emotional meaning to me as it came out when my daughters were still little, so the lyrics really resonated with me.

Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin

Authority Song - John Mellencamp

It's a Long way to the Top (If you want to Rock and Roll) - AC/DC

Running Down a Dream - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

I Could not ask for More - Edwin McCain

(This is actually the first time I've watched the official video - kind of strange, they could have made a much better video to match the lyrics)
