This is one of those threads I would love to answer but like Incriptus there is simply no way I can narrow it down. Even a top fifty is difficult and that is keeping it to one song per performer. I will say without that stipulation my list would be Springsteen heavy. Here is a short list of songs that have a special significance because they are attached to some particular point in my life. I am going to run over the limit by a bit. A couple are from the same artist. The Rising-Springsteen- most need no reason why. Jungle Land-Springsteen- a song of being lost in a world where time and mistakes are always repeating. My interpretation anyway. Fit in well for me as a young boy. All along the Watchtower-Hendrix. A bit before my time but blew me away when I listened to his rendition. It evokes a feeling like Jungle Land with a thunder storm added. Scarecrow- Mellencamp- growing up in a rural setting I had family and friends who lost their homes during that time because of issues they could not control. Oh Mickey-Toni Basil-Ha I missed April Fool day this will have to do. This one is on nobodies favorite list. Not even on her own list. We Are The World-pretty much everybody they could cram onto the recording- no explanation needed. A small sampling. | |||||||
