Previous Post I was thinking the other day about two bands whose music clearly was heavily influenced by the Doors: Nick Cave Bauhaus Are there any other bands whose music reminds you of the Doors? Whose music do you like better - the Original Gangster's or the new young turk's?

I cannot think of a single band that reminds me of the Doors. Certainly their influence spreads through many but not the sound. On the other hand I see many artists that remind me of Jimi Hendrix. Janis Joplin is one I do not see any resemblance to anyone. Anyway The Doors seemed much like a band that pulled together all the influences of those before them into a style all their own. Maybe the culture of the time had some to do with why I do not see much in the way of sound or style afterward. Of course this is based on the bands I have actually spent time listening too on a regular basis. So there could be plenty of examples that I just do know about.
