Here's the article:

I heavily support telework for anyone who doesn't see customers face to face or perform manual labor that's tied to a location. I was one such person and I teleworked with great success for over a decade. I think managers who fear telework are irrational control freaks.

For some reason he seems to imply people doing telework are not truly working. Which is strange since the general concensus was telework actually increased productivity.

Telework cost nothing to employers (can easily argue it has potential to save money), while often increasing happiness and productivity. Not taking full advantage of it whenever possible is stupid.

I kinda get the jealousy argument some try to spin (some workers can do telework while others can't), but it quickly fall apparts when they try to compare drastically different type of work to make their point. Of course the person that clean the office can't telework the vaccuum cleaning part. But if you envy other type of tasks and the perks that comes with it you should work toward changing your job instead of making everybody miserable because you resent them having priviledge you can't have. I mean, I can envy teachers' summer vacations, but if I'm not willing to become a teacher I have no business expecting the perks they have (along with the bads).

I can totally understand people who had to do 2 hours commutes everyday no wanting to get back to it for no other reasons than the boss being a control freak or other being jealous. I have an hybrid schedule now I and won't go back to a full schedule at the office period. I'm happier, more available and productive than ever and it cost my employer less than before because I do more from a distance rather than move in person everywhere. We operated perfectly well like that for 2 years so it's not like we are in unknown territory.

To me, telework is a gift to employees who like it and employers too.
