Never said he had done anything in the long term. And most of the short term other than the Fed are not going to help much if at all (gas tax holiday). Although the release from the strategic reserve was reasonable it did not move the needle enough. 

Most of my prior post focused on the political realities that even if he was acting radical and against his nature and impulses it is likely that they all are stopped in court and have no net benefit anyway. 

I think I have posted elsewhere about my preferred approaches in terms of long term strategies to insulate but they would take decades to implement and I think they are more pipe dream than reality. 

The rest of my post is disagreeing with you about the FDR comparison. There has not been a president like FDR sense FDR because the situation was not the same.
