What are your thoughts about the stock market? Do you fear it? Does it excite you? Do you think it is under-regulated? Over-regulated? The nation's economic heartsblood? A nest of vipers? A way to build wealth? A pyramid scheme?

To me it is a random assortment (sampling) of large companies that are on the exchanges and how a specific group of people throwing money around view those companies and the economy as a whole.

Depending on the exchange things are more or less useful. The S&P is probably the best with the largest sampling. But it is really the opinion of the investor class that may or may not be founded in reality.

I think it is underregulated without question to be honest.

It is a way to make money, particularly retirement accounts or if you have extra money but I do not really see it as needed in the current form. The core idea of companies becoming public makes sense but the system itself is very much weighted to help make things like income inequality worse while giving as little back as possible.

At least in my view.
