When the story about the 10-year old Ohio rape victim entered the news:

    Quote:
Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem tweeted that the story was fake.

Yes, and even pressed she made the strange comment about it being tragic but you do not compound a tragedy with a tragedy.

Which would mean that a 10-year old would be burdened with all of the medical, economic and social problems of having a baby through no fault or choice of her own. So it is a burden on her parent(s).

It is a monstrous stance to make. I understand people that make their call to not have an abortion. I get it, but to force a rape victim to. The sheer mental trauma. It is heartless hiding behind crocodile tears. And that statement in this case is unfair to crocodiles.

    Quote:
The Wall Street Journal wrote an op-ed saying the story was “too good to confirm,” alleging it was false. Fox News, The Daily Wire, and the New York Post were all skeptical.

I saw that. And I know that none will but they should apologize. I saw that most shifted to saying that the rapist was an illegal immigrant, as if that changes anything even if true. I think I saw some pro-life conservative at a hearing saying the 10-year old could have gotten the procedure anywhere as no state law in the country could have stopped her and she said it was not an abortion.

It is nonsense of the highest order to avoid responsibility of terrible laws and terrible opinions.

Why didn't any of these people and groups show this level of skepticism on any of Trump's claims but now they need everything? And when it is true you have the AG of Indiana go after the doctor for not following the law even though she did.

    Quote:
Republican Ohio Representative Jim Jordan tweeted the story was a lie.

Yup. The guy is a clown.

    Quote:
Republican Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said there was “not a whisper” of the girl’s case in the state’s law enforcement system and said “likely that this is a fabrication.”

This was a massive joke and should massively undermine him. He should also know better than to push this sort of agenda. I mean there was an arrest not long after but not all rapes are reported.

And a 10-year old...modern conservatism is a joke.

    Quote:
Then Gerson Fuentes was arrested and confessed to the rape.

    Quote:
Instead of mea culpas, conservative politicians just erased their awful tweets and conservative media began targeting the doctor who performed the abortion or focusing on the immigration status of the rapist.

Yup. The doctor did nothing wrong and it is all ignoring that a little girl that was rapped needed the procedure and did not violate any laws.

Anything to force their version of morality on others. Even if she had the baby most of these GOP lead states would provide much aid. Most regard those people as free loaders that need to get a job and will do what they can to cut social services. The selective memory is staggering.

    Quote:
This is just shameful, disgraceful behavior.

No question.
