More to my point, why are you so zeroed in on communism? Is it an 80s nostalgia thing? I'm no supporter of communism, but it seems like an off thing to focus on.

Communism is what the radical Left wants to establish, even as a hybrid of fascism and theocracy is what the radical Right wants to establish. I've been pondering all three single-party systems and decided to get some help thinking about them via this discussion board. I started with Communism because the Late Great Donald Blake is a self-professed Communist, so I knew I'd get some pushback, which is what I wanted.

As a result of this thread, I now see very clearly that single-party systems are evil by their very nature, because they cannot exist without suppression of opposing parties, which abridges political freedom, which is evil.

Multi-party systems can at least theoretically avoid evil, because they don't have to suppress opposing parties. They can foster a climate of political freedom.

Why communism, when it is powerful people in general.

In multi-party systems, moral goodness is at least theoretically possible. In single-party systems it is not.
