First- Since Victor considered himself the "father" of the monster and did indeed bring him alive into the world would that actually make the creature a Frankenstein by birth? So maybe all of us calling it Frankenstein was accurate all along?

In a metaphorical adoptive sort of parent way maybe. But one could probably argue either way. And in the traditional sense it is not an offspring.

Do you know of any movies, books, etc. where the original brain owner take over the creature?

I seem to recall in the original novel that the brain was grown and not found as such. The abnormal brain from the Universal film and some others, I think there are references to the original owner but I think I am recalling the brain they wanted to use.

There have been times a new brain has been put in though. Ghost of Frainkstein Igor's brain was put in and still was in Frankenstein meets the Wolfman but was greatly played down in the final edit, making it more confusing in places.

The Hammer films play alot more with the brain source I guess and you know some of them, but the monster itself does not show up as much as it deals with experiments of Frankenstein and him being crazy. But they have it alot in there with the various experiments.

There are varying examples of it being known who the original giver was. Sometimes even the original person keeps the brain and wakes up to the sort of horror or as a sort of hive mind between the group of people put in there. I know I saw that recently in a film but am blanking on the name of it (not Frankenhooker, although that somewhat follows).

There are so many films and books based around the concept that it would be challenging to recall them all. But sometimes it is known.
