Quote:I think in the comics Ego is in a roundabout way considered an Elder of the Universe. I never liked that. I don't think they ever invited him to their pool parties.
Quote:If I correctly remembered, Ego is one of the on-and-off allies of the Elders because the Living Planet might be one of the oldest living beings in this version of the universe. That's why Ego once helped the Elders in a plot involving the Silver Surfer and the Infinity Stones (when they were still known as the Soul Gems).
Quote:The MCU makes Ego one of the relatives of the Celestials. Still, this idea also comes from the comics.
Quote:Apparently, Ego the Living Planet came from the Black Galaxy, where a new Celestial was also born
That's not exactly what happened with the Celestial. He wasn't born in the black galaxy. A void condensed the Black Galaxy and absorbed every speck of matter and coalesced into that new Celestial. The Celestial arose from the galaxy's conversion for lack of a better term.
I know I'm being pedantic but to me there isn't enough of a connection from that story to say Ego and the Celestials have any meaningful bond. He's one lifeform in an entire galaxy that was alive and every other bit of that galaxy was converted into a Celestial. Comparatively Ego is little more than a drop of blood or a dead skin cell that flaked off a Celestial.
