Diana is both of those things though!

No. She was brought to life by Zeus, but that's all. She's not a goddess or demigoddess. Zeus didn't father her in a 'natural' way. She's like Adam and Eve, not Hercules.

And while she's been trained in combat and the use of weaponry she's not by nature a warrior. Just the opposite, in fact. She was brought up in a society where there had been no war for centuries, by people who eschewed war and had built a society based on peace, love and tolerance.

I know they're getting her wrong in the comics too these days, but that's why I don't read them. Seeing Diana carrying a sword is as alien to me as finding a picture of Ghandi carrying an assault rifle. It betrays a total misunderstanding of the character.

She has been a goddess before though, as she had the godwave power, and she is a skilled Amazon warrior, who uses her talents for peace keeping and defeating evil!
