Loved it. Wasn't sure what to think before watching, but the first episode had me intrigued. Will continue to watch.

Painful interactions with Police that hit very close to home... Way too real.

Various themes of the show were set into place and I'm hoping the show can continue to deliver.

I like the main character (liked the actor in stuff I had seen before) and the oldest daughter. But I hope we get some good nuanced villains on the show. Not feeling the racist white cops and the stereotypical black gangsters we got this episode at all. (and I really couldn't stand the youngest daughter...already rooting for her to die unless she smartens up)

And this episode opened with that Justice Like Lightning poem that later showed up in Thunderbolts #1. Thunderbolts #1 said poet Thomas Randolph wrote that. But I don't think he did. I think Busiek got it from a comic that wrongly attributed it to Randolph.
