Are those... cowboy boots?

Does Billy Batson transform into the world's mightiest line dancer?

No, not entirely happy with this. I like the fact they've kept the right colour scheme, and the costume in general is fine, but the boots are silly, the cape looks too flimsy - although it might look better in live action - and I HATE the hood with every fibre of my being. It looked a bit rubbish in the comics, and it looks rubbish here.

And, I really hope they're going to do something in post to make it look less like an obvious muscle suit. It sticks out like a sore thumb in that photo.

I'm getting less hopeful for this the more I see and hear of it. Another underperformer, I think.

I would agree on the face of it if you use just this unauthorised image as your benchmark, but judging from my own previous experience I advise an open mind be kept. These costumes when photographed out of context and in broad daylight often don't look good no, but as with Grant Gustin's costume in The Flash the finished result is what actually counts, not an unauthorised unprepared 'sneak' shot like this.

I have no idea about this film. For so long it has been rumor and wishful thinking, so to see evidence that an actual shoot is indeed finally happening takes some adjusting to. It could be rubbish, frankly if the Geoff Johns/Gary Frank treatment is what they aspire to it WILL be disappointing. But... maybe, just maybe, the right director and a decent script might align and produce something worth at least watching. If not actually enjoyable! What we perhaps need here is some of the lessons taken from Harry Potter's appeal and success as a series and a film and character that is aimed at the correct child/teen/family as that series was. I would love to see the miracle occur and Captain Marvel become popular and widely known once more. \(coffee\)
