Great issue, I interpret the end to mean that Dr. Manhattan has ended his life by transferring his powers into a boy that he nurtured like the Kents so that Dr. M’s world could have a hero that Dr. M could never be. That is really sad. I was hoping to see more of Dr. M and his place on the cosmic scale of things in future comics.

It was great that Dr. M found purpose and meaning again. His existence up to that point was cold experimentation to try to understand it all, dealing with the frustration of not understanding. In his own universe that he saved, I guess the child will be that universe’s version of Superman. Not of Kryptonian descent but an honorary Superman who meets the role that Superman fills: hope.

Great save by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, I was certain Doomsday Clock #12 was going to disappoint but it didn’t.
