I can't disagree with you at all. I always think back to the last great event I can recall.. Annihilation, when Nova was talking about how bad it would be for Earth if the wave arrived and the line was something like, "But.., They have the Fantastic Four".. as in Screw you Annihilation wave. The FF will own you.

Yes, but if the FF owned the Annihilation Wave, it wouldn't be because of how strong Ben is, how hot Johnny's flames are, or how elusive and untouchable the Invisible Girl is. It would be Reed Richards who owned the Annihilation Wave, with his team doing whatever he tells them to do, without even fully (or sometimes even partially) understanding why.

Reed Richards is one of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy. Take him out of the equation and then send the Annihilation Wave. If no one is defending it but Ben, Johnny, and Sue, Earth will fall.

This, I believe, is the opinion and attitude of Moon Girl. If so - how far off is she? Sure, we love the other three, me as much as anyone, but Reed Richards is what makes the FF a force to be feared even across inter-galactic space. Tell the Shi'Ar that Ben, Johnny, and Sue are on the way to wage war with them. The Shi'Ar will ask if Reed is coming too. If he isn't, they'll send a few ships to blow up whatever ship is carrying Ben, Johnny, and Sue. But if Reed Richards is coming - now the desperate alarms will ring across the empire.

Probably the LAST time they got the respect they deserved.

Because Reed has been gone.
