I'm floored. Chip Zdarsky plucked every damned heart string that this old FFan has left and if Jim Cheung isn't drawing from the heart himself it's a damned good act.
Unlike their terrible showings in other books this really showed us Ben and Johnny.. and that two faced Victor guy, too. It's not a sad reflection of greatness gone by, it's so far the true continuing story of two great friends who've shared in a terrible tradegy and are trying to move forward the only ways they know how to. Johnny isn't a two dimensional self absorbed idiot, he's a brother, uncle and friend coping with monumental loss. And Ben, Ben is Ben Grimm. That amazing character that a long time ago I said drove the bus on a tour for the readers through the amazing Marvel Universe.
Can't wait for the next issue. Wonderful to read, gorgeous to look at. Heck, Zdarsky even tossed in a editors note in one corner for a reference. Loved seeing that.

I agree! And wasn't Zdarskey's dialogue and characterization darn near perfect for everyone involved? Its really not a question. Doom especially came across so well with whom he was and whom he is trying to be in current continuity. Can't wait for the second issue!
