I don't think Doom's version of 'good' is the same as the rest of the Universe's version of good. So to him it might be 100% authentic, but to anyone else it might be different.

Exactly. I love the character of Doom. He represents one of the great Marvel characters of all time. Certainly in the top 10, maybe even the top 5.

We have seen anti-heroes before. The Punisher. Deadpool. Wolverine. Heck, even the Silver Surfer could be considered an accomplice to murder on a massive, galactic scale. And many more. But Doom has a pretty brutal and evil backstory and continuity. On numerous occasions he has demonstrated he lacks a moral compass. That's a tough redemption reboot if you ask me.

Of course Marvel can always trot in St. Alicia or other device to pronounce, after feeling Doom's face, that he has "good inside him", etc. That's usually all it takes.
