    Quote:
Due to Marvel's recent IronDoom run, Doom will likely now be portrayed as a powerful anti-hero rather than a villain in the MCU. This complicates things a bit for bringing back the FF. They may initially oppose him, but they will have Doom walk that line between hero and villain. He'll do the wrong things but for perhaps good reasons, etc.

They had him doing this when he was babysitting Val. He's done this before many times. All his past atrocities will be re-spun as him being evil against worse evil! Sort of The Punisher on steroids. Doom is fights evil with evil. I don't see Doom as a villain any longer. Rather, a vigilante of epic proportions.

I'm fine with him being an anti hero for a while. Because it won't last. Nothing ever does. There are probably just as many stories of Victor acting honorably as there are stories of him being irredeemably evil. In one story he will kill a flunky for trying to rape a female prisoner because he's a man of honor and then another will have him come into a Latverian home and demand the couple that lives there offer up their teenage daughter because it's his right as king to have whichever female he wants.

This is the angle they're going for right now. Eventually someone will write with a different angle in mind. These are characters that have appeared thousands of times...every now and then someone wants to try a different take on them. I'm always bothered when they do this stuff with the less important characters. Those characters we can invest in their journey because they appear so rarely and it sucks when a writer kills one of them off or puts them down the wrong path.
