I don't know why but I love the Allred retro-styled story. It is my favorite part of the book.
Some of the scenes pencilled by Adam Hughes were very funny (the Asp, Thundra, et cetera).
BTW, there are mistakes in this picture. Did you see them ? (^_^)
Thundra was invited but Tigra didn't come ? Was she even invited ? Did the authors forget that she used to be a close associate & friend of the FF ?
Apparently, Willie Lumpkin, Scott Lang, Darla Deering, Agatha Harkness didn't come either to the bachelor & bachelorette parties.
The Silver Surfer may have not been invited because he dated Alicia in 1997 ...(and Sharon Ventura wasn't invited either since she dated Ben Grimm.)
Quote:Dimension Folding living space. (Is Tesseract precidence the same thine?) "Twice the square footage" does NOT translate to "Looking forever"! [...] Perfectly in character and with the perfect gift.
It is bigger on the inside ... IMO, Dan Slott plans to make Mister Fantastic the "Doctor WHO" of the Marvel Universe.
(It makes sense since Doctor WHO has been influenced by the comics of the Space Age and, thus, the FF.)
At the same time, I cannot imagine the FF being too long far away from the Baxter Building ... It is like Batman without the Batcave. It can be fun once in a while, but it is only temporary.
If the #4 Yancy Street remains a secret headquarters, it is fine but once the villains figure out where they live ... all the neighborhood will be at risk.
Aunt Petunia and Uncle Jake show up alive and well and chronology-lite. Good reunion.
Clearly it is a post-Secret Wars retcon but, certainly, one that I can live with !
Quote:Powerhouse shows up with blue hair and punk-lite. Actually, it's a good look (short term).
Franklin having his teenage crisis is very fun (^_^)
Quote:Alicia misuses the catchprhase "YOINK". Sidebar about her: Does anyone else Alicia should have telepathically been able to SEE The Thing's appearance through her step-father's eyes when she controlled him with the magic clay in the Fantastic Four - Wedding Special #1??
It is a bit weird because it highlights an aspect of Alicia's personality that I was not aware of so far. In other words, it seems that she can be very manipulative & secretive. I wonder what, on the long term, Dan Slott may have in mind. How will Ben react when he understands that Alicia used the puppet of the Puppet Master to secure the result ? Will Ben accept it as a simple mistake ? Does it mean that Alicia has access to some supernatural clay or is it the same puppet that had already appeared in Fantastic Four #8 ? Will her stepfather realize what she did ? Will he attack the FF again with or without the help of the Mad Thinker ?
