I don't quite follow these references comparing Mark Waid's FLASH to a bad 1970's sitcoms. I really liked Mark Waid's original runs on FLASH and IMPULSE, and his follow-up runs on CAPTAIN AMERICA and FANTASTIC FOUR were also excellent. So I have a lot of faith that the guy knows how to write.
And for that reason, I strongly discourage any comparisons between Waid and Sherwood Schwartz.
Sure... there is a case to be made that Sherwood Schwartz' brilliant work on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND was shortly followed by his not quite brilliant work on BRADY BUNCH, and that Waid is about to follow in Schwartz' footprints.
But I think, just maybe, a good writer can introduce a kid or two as a supporting character in a book, without the book going to hell. I don't recall the introduction of Bart/Impulse as ruining the book. And I don't recall the introduction of Wally/Kid Flash back in the 60's as ruining the book either.
Mark Waid's track record as a writer over the past 15 years or so has been very good. And so, yeah. I'm expecting more good stuff from him.

> Damn...I want what you're smoking. Make sure you tune in tonite to "The Brady Bunch" reruns on the TV Land cable channel, too.
