Well it's been 3 days so here's another quickie...

Brave and the Bold 8

Should've put the issue down as soon as I saw it was a story about Jai and Iris. Not impressed with the Brady Bunch element of Flash's life yet. The haunted house angle and dinner conversation had some funny moments. And their success at slugfests here is hard to accept. The overly overprotective concern of the West's for their kids seems a little hypocritical given that they allow them to superhero around. However, the Sophie's Choice moment was dramatic indeed.

The return of the original Doom Patrol to more or less original status was a little jarring. In the new post-52 does that mean their classic sacrifice mission didn't happen? Shame, it suited them as their claim to fame.

The Metamorpho appearance had a nice surprise guest star feel. Still, not his biggest fan though as his biological assistance was a little too conviently deus-ex-machina. The concept was sound, though, who better to help Niles help these meta-powered kids than the man who puts the META in Metamorpho. The kids pending health risk was a logical story to explore but kinda wished for a different outcome (that probably should happen in Flash title anyways...)

Rita's smile is interesting. Dislike Mento's headshot design. Typical good Perez art.

Enjoyed last issue more. Not really paying attention to the ongoing Challengers/Megistus subplot until a decision t'put this title on a monthly pull list is made.

No, it did. The "return" of the Doom Patrol was covered back in Infinite Crisis, and One Year Later in Teen Titans. A retcon punch kind of aligned all the various versions of the Doom Patrol into continuity, and believe it or not, it all fits, even the sacrifice mission.
