Quote:...hmm... how do I put this?
Shortly after Barry's sacrifice in the Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC launched The Flash from issue #1 with Wally filling the costume. We all know that.
But I'm also recalling something else: correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that during issue #1 ( written by Mike Baron ), Wally was thinking about Barry and in his thoughts he was saying that Barry owed a lot of money to his lawyers after the trial due to Professor Zoom's death, at the time he died in the Crisis.
Now, I know that much later in the series ( I think it was during Mark Waid's run ), Wally founded the Barry Allen foundation, that helped promote the Flash's name, and pretty much feed him. Right? Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm not sure if I got my facts right.
So, I wasn't following Flash regularly in the mid-90s and pretty much missed Johns' run... but was it ever established if the foundation actually paid all of Barry's debts? Have this point ever been adressed? Yeah... weird question! But the thought has been around my mind for a while now.
So, can anyone help?
Quote:The Johns' run restored Barry's secret ID to the world, so, even if he still owes legal fees, he doesn't owe them as Barry Allen. I'm fairly sure that they are all paid off by now though... Between Wally's financial windfalls and Iris's book sales, I figure it's safely taken care of.
Yes, I think I've read some comment about that... "development" somewhere some time ago. Completely forgot about that bit in the "Blitz" saga, was it?
I think it was a cop-out, and it closes the door to some interesting possibilities. After Barry's demise, the Rogues knew who he was, and the confessed feeling some sort of "respectful hate" towards him. So, it would have been interesting to see how their reaction would have been if the knew that Barry was back. Now that they don't know about the identities of either Barry or Wally, how would they tell?
Totally forgot about Iris' books... yes, I can see Wally and Iris both taking care of Barry's financial problems after his demise. But I like seeing that personal stuff on-panel.
Whatever, don't mind me... thanks for your help!
