FLASH REBIRTH 1 http://comics.ign.com/articles/968/968634p1.html http://www.dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=11472 ![]() Maybe not as low as 10%, but was 'won over' a lot less than 90%. Did not like this restart. It should have been more reader friendly for those who are being introduced to Barry Allen along with those who have lost track of him since he died in Crisis. The too-long opening sequence felt terribly misplaced. Also disappointing was that the recap info from Final Crisis was lacking (eg. KidFlash/Impulse is back?! And will have to chk online reviews asto the 3(?) main antagonists - whoever they are.) Another DCU decaptitation this week is sickenly gratuitous. DC Titles Editors should ration this plot device to AT MOST only ONCE a week. Not sure if GL using his Ring to track Barry is a harmless throwaway line here or a superpower precident that will have to be ignored in upandcoming adventures. There were some good moments. All the reactions of the DCU were nice to see, right off - issue one, but they overshadowed Barry's personal revelations of his new status quo. Would've like to see a few more details about Barry's reincarnated state to justify more coinage for the cover. Not crazy about some of the speed effect artistic interpretation (with one or two panel exceptions). Agree with you on the apparent major retcon too. The uncontrollable speedforce death-touch does offer good story possibilities though. Quote: Well, I'm 90% won over, at least for the duration of this miniseries. I thought it did a good job of introducing everyone (except Linda, who got a voiceover bit but only in her professional capacity), setting up a threat, addressing the obvious questions, and ending on a cliffhanger. The one thing I didn't like was what appeared to be a major retcon near the end of the book.
