VERY reserved anticipation about the series. Hopefully not just another Flash #1 to start over again with... FLASH 1 http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/03/03/get-a-signed-copy-of-the-flash-1-via-twitter/ http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/03/01/kick-off-the-week-with-a-look-at-the-flash-1/ With the previews in the back of previous title the set up seemed pleasant but underwhelming. After reading it was.. pleasant but underwhelming. The art was enjoyable enough.. ie. the speed effect. Liked his demonstrations but waiting to see ifit can be sustained [nb. It looked as cool with Barry walking thru Cpt. Boomerangs cell in Brightest Day #0]. If someone wants to buy a Flash poster there are some in almost every LCS. It seemed overly indulgent to have so many full and double page splash pages with a ..er.. 'run' of the mill image of Flash. Actually the panel where he was circling the flying car mid-air was better than any of the full page shots. [Though taking that car apart soconfinedly(word?) was a mind blowing feat.] A Rogues cameo to tell readers theyre still around in case you never got all the other #1's of late. A new, old job. Not sure but possibly 2-3 (unassuming) CSI workers returning from past series. A public dynamic with Iris set up. Probably more or less the same(redundant) as the Wally/Linda one. A bunch of clever phrases that put the pun in punctuality. That was about it. It all went down ..er.. quick. Kinda like lite beer (I imagine). Fortunately at the end theres a murder mystery revealed with a suprise (somewhat acceptably cliche) appearance by some familiar faces that finally give you a reason to buy #2. I miss my brother. | |||||||
