The funniest thing about Smallville was that the Green Arrow in that show was only different from Batman in that he had arrows.

It was like the show runners were like oh we can't use Batman? Fine, we'll do it anyway and just not call him Batman.

If you look at, I think the FIRST Green Arrow episode, he was going from one building to another using a line and grappling hook, and the music they played sounded JUST LIKE music you'd hear in a Batman movie.

I knew EXACTLY what they were saying.

Then there was a scene, much later, where Oliver (in costume, I think) and Clark were atop a building, looking out at the city. I think they were standing on a stone gargoyle and Oliver was saying, while standing right at Clark's side, that they'd be there together to protect the people.

It was obviously saying that Oliver was the Batman of the SMALLVILLE reality.

I mean, I'm glad Bruce finally showed up in that universe, even it it was only in the comicbook, but when the show was running, they were plainly telling the audience "Oliver is Batman".
