The reason I asked is that some things said recently seem to suggest, for example, that the post-Crisis/NewEarth Superman and Lois still exist and that Lois is with child.

    Problem-
If the NewEarth/pre-Flashpoint realtiy morphed into the nu52 by way of it being merged, in the distant past, with two other universes, then the current (nu52) reality IS the post-Crisis/NewEarth realtiy, but with an altered history (due to other realities being blended with it).

How can the nu52 be an altered pre-Flashpoint reality, and yet the pre-Flashpoint reality is still out there, existing on its own and "doingverywellthankyouverymuch"?

Your very question stems from confusion, which is understandable. I think this new storyline is contradicting what happened in Flashpoint and Barry essentially "re-booting" the Universe. By my understanding, the DC Universe we knew since 1986 was forever altered. So, yeah, I think this new storyline does contradict Flashpoint.

Great job DC *Sarcasm*

Your question proves one thing, though. It's too confusing to have the Multiverse where there is New Earth, Post-Crisis Earth, Earth 2, Earth whatever...It's just too confusing. That's why DC had the Crisis on Infinity Earths some decades back in an attempt to make DC just one universe. They were doing fine right up until they started re-introducing the multiverse again. And now look at the mess DC is in.

Personally, I'm glad the REAL Superman is still alive and well. It's good to see the REAL, TRUE, DC Universe is still out there. Not only that, but he's going to have a child with Lois (about bloody time!!). I might have to check that out since this is the Superman I know and love.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
