This is possible, though given Wells' cold blooded murder of Simon Stagg and the Reverse-Flash's equally evil act to those two Mercury Labs security guards one should be careful when thinking Wells is some "hard but kind" samaritan.
The building up of Wells over the series thus far is obviously not that of trustworthy guardian angel, he uses people as chess pieces and will kill anyone who poses a significant obstacle to him. That he is orchestrating much of what has occured for all these episodes is just one more pointer to his sinister controlling nature.

Oh believe me I know he is no saint.

However Reverse Flash coming from the future to fulfill his role in history as Flash's nemesis is a possibility.

RF knows what is coming in the future and he knows of the Flash and Reverse Flash and has set himself up to be Reverse Flash and fulfill his role as the villain, now he is essentially stuck in that role and must do as history dictates or else a major paradox occurs.
