Wells not realizing Barry could speed them to a safe area may not be an oversight. He did remind Barry that he cannot outrun a nuclear explosion....

However I would say at this point that Barry cannot outrun a nuke blast, however as he is still training and trying to figure his top speed AND that time travel is coming, I'd say soon he could outrun a nuke.

Didn't he outrun a nuke in this very episode?

In any case, I was assuming Wells was accurate when he announced they had a few hours before Martin/Ronnie exploded. A few hours was plenty of time for Barry to speed Martin/Ronnie to a secluded place and then hightail it back home.

Probably true. But he could die.

Well the device was on Firestorm so it may have reduced the blast somewhat.

Or Wells was wrong about Barry outrunning the blast, or he lied to protect Barry since Barry is needed for the future.

As to Barry's dad dying, I don't foresee that happening. John Wesley Shipp was brought in as a homage to the old Flash TV series, and I can't see them ending that homage.

There is a story to be told of him getting released and trying to reintegrate back into society and a normal life after so many years in jail. Not to mention that the public will need to get over the fact that they thought he killed his wife when he actually didn't. Reputation, is such a pain.

Still I'd be curious to see what a lawyer and judge would saw about the blood samples......Joe stated they never even attempted to ascertain if there was another suspect. yes Henry was holding the knife and it looked like it was a slam-dunk case for the cops to pin it on him, but it is still sloppy that they never formally checked to be sure there was another suspect.
