They showed that. He was still conscious when Barry took off his mask to tend to a dying Plastique. Thereby acknowledging the annoying fact that Barry is a moron, always taking off his mask when he stops moving too fast for people to see him. The mask apparently is there to simply keep his identity from Iris as he tells everyone else after he has known them for five minutes. Attention writers or writers want-to-be, acknowledging a stupid aspect of the story doesn't make it less stupid.

You make valid points about Barry's stupidity (and I fully 100% agree with them) but the scene itself describing to us how Eiling knows Barry is the Flash doesn't work. Eiling was looking at Barry while Barry's back was turned, so the General doesn't even get to look at Barry's face. Thus, there is no way Eiling should know who the Flash is. Thus, he magically knows that Barry and the Flash are one and the same. The man must be a metahuman himself because he's bloody psychic.

Simplest explanation...Pied Piper told him. PP knows and is on the loose and trading that information to someone as connected as Eiling has probably helped keep him that way.
