As I keep saying to any who post this rumor, "It ain't going to happen!"

Why?

1. Tom Welling, regardless of any "contract" he had with Smallville, was reluctant to even portray Superman. The guy wouldn't watch any movie, read any comic, etc. He also expressed repeatedly, he's simply not interested in playing Superman on the big screen, stands to reason he feels the same way on TV (Tom did, initially, reject the role of Clark Kent when he thought he'd be playing Superman). So, in saying that, why would he want to appear as Superman in the Flash? He didn't even appear as Superman in Smallville's series finale except in CGI longshots and close ups.

2. Geoff Johns himself has said, "No Batman, no Superman." I don't understand why people think he doesn't have a say in who does or who does not appear in the Flash. Good chances are, he does. If Tom DOES appear in the Flash, I gearantee, it won't be as Superman, it'll be as Clark Kent (and appearing strictly as Clark is far more believable given Tom's high reluctance to portray Superman).

Sorry folks, this is just a rumor and it's not going to happen. If I was into making bets, I'd even bet a million dollars on it.

I suspect that Welling wants to avoid the "typecast curse" that comes with suiting up as Superman.

Also we don't know the full state of Superman TV rights, does DC/Time Warner have a hammerlock on them now, or does the fight continue?

Geoff Johns says No Superman, and that is good enough for me.

The only thing that will change John's and Welling's minds is a good story and a truckload of cash.
