I would safely assume it isn't actual gold no, Cisko built the gun but common sense says it can't be conjuring up real gold. Though quite where it is drawing that endless substance from is anyones guess...
I do agree with you that Golden Glider on screen doesn't work. I can't be alone in notunderstanding her motivation and I am not at all convinced someone like this intelligent beauty would stoop to such unimaginitive and public criminality with a pair of chancers like her brother and career sociopath Heatwave. There hasn't been much thought put into her.

Her comicbook equivalent on the other is well developed and complex. A successful and astute updating of the 70s ice skater motif.

I suppose that the plan was to combine the comics versions of Golden Glider, Goldface and Blacksmith into one TV character, maybe ?

Geoff Johns made Cold a 'cool character' (like Eastwood in many movies, or Gibson in Payback & Mad Max, or Bronson in Once upon a time in the West) when he told the story of Captain Cold killing Chillblaine for the previous death of his sister.

Since the TV show is heavily influenced by the ideas of Geoff Johns, it would be logical to anticipate a similar ending.

So, IMO, in the TV series, Golden Glider will die ... the purpose of said-story will be to make Len Snart a colder character due to her death, like in the comics. I suppose that the producers plan to have her killed with her own weapon, making her a golden statue, like in Goldfinger.

When Golden Glider was created, her nom de guerre was obviously a pastiche of Silver Surfer, even if she didn't have any cosmic power.

Unfortunately, in the TV series, I don't know why Cisco nicknamed her Golden Glider ?
Is there an explanation for the "Glider" part of her pseudonym ?
