Back when I saw Grant Gustin appear in Arrow for the first time as Barry Allen, I immediately knew he was a major miscast. Wrong look, wrong face, way too skinny, too geeky and the wrong hair/eye color. I still think that today. With one season under his belt and season 2 currently in progress, Grant Gustin still has yet to convince me he was right for the part. Grant looks surprisingly good in the Flash suit, but again...way too skinny. Yes, I know the Flash is a runner and is not a huge guy. But just compare Grant Gustin with Usain Bolt. Grant looks like a toothpick compared to Bolt. THAT'S the build Grant needs to work on.

Matt Barr was one of the top three actors being considered for the role. Looking at him, he has the right look, the right build, even down to the eyes and hair. He would have been perfect! Talk about a major missed opportunity...

What do you think? Are you happy with Grant Gustin or would you have liked Matt Barr instead?

While Matt Barr definitely looks a bit muscular in comparison to Grant, there is something to be said about capturing the character and personality.

Remember way back when Keaton was announced as Batman? Many people were essentially going Whiskey Tango Foxtrot about that choice.

Then the movie came out, Keaton had the character of Bruce Wayne down fairly well, and of course NEEDED the suit to be Batman as his physique wasn't quite up to the role compared to some other actors of the time.

Val Kilmer, well his Bruce Wayne was fine but his Batman was bad and don't get me started on Clooney.

Christopher Reeeve, he was a good Clark and good Superman and always will be. We'll just ignore Superman 3 and 4 ;\)
