Back when I saw Grant Gustin appear in Arrow for the first time as Barry Allen, I immediately knew he was a major miscast. Wrong look, wrong face, way too skinny, too geeky and the wrong hair/eye color. I still think that today. With one season under his belt and season 2 currently in progress, Grant Gustin still has yet to convince me he was right for the part. Grant looks surprisingly good in the Flash suit, but again...way too skinny. Yes, I know the Flash is a runner and is not a huge guy. But just compare Grant Gustin with Usain Bolt. Grant looks like a toothpick compared to Bolt. THAT'S the build Grant needs to work on.

Matt Barr was one of the top three actors being considered for the role. Looking at him, he has the right look, the right build, even down to the eyes and hair. He would have been perfect! Talk about a major missed opportunity...

What do you think? Are you happy with Grant Gustin or would you have liked Matt Barr instead?

I wouldn't have liked Matt Barr. (I remember him from the Hatfields/McCoys miniseries)

Grant Gustin's Flash is a major geek. He isn't a male bimbo (himbo?)

If Matt Barr was Flash then I couldn't buy the following things.

1. Iris not sleeping with Barry
2. Caitlyn not sleeping with Barry
3. Linda not sleeping with Barry
4. Iris choosing Eddie over Barry
5. Cisco and Barry being friends (or Cisco sleeping with Barry...just kidding)
6. Barry being a scientist
7. Joe and Barry's father/son dynamic

Grant Gustin's goofy charm and not looking like a male model is what makes this Peter Parker-ish iteration of Barry work so well. He's kind of the opposite of Stephen Amell on Arrow.
