If this is true, then he should cut everyone out of his life as well because it'd be the "noble" thing to do,. That includes Iris, Joe, Caitlin, Cisco, everyone he cares about and tackle Zoom all on his lonesome. Iris West is just as much as a target as Patty or anyone else Barry cares about on Team Flash. No, Barry was not being noble, he was being an idiot. Period.

I'm not gonna judge him. If I was a superhero or a soldier, a cop, a firefighter, any job where there is a good chance I might die on a daily basis, I might feel like a lover might be better off with someone else. All I'm saying is there is a reason why spies are usually unattached. It's easier to risk your life on a daily basis if you're only worrying about yourself. Otherwise you hesitate. Or wonder what you're still doing in that business.

And yes, I think there is a big difference. Killing a friend would be devastating but killing someone he loves could destroy him.

I'm not saying your wrong we're talking about emotions and I agree with you on some level. Patty could get hit by a bus tomorrow as easily as she could end up killed by Zoom, but I don't know if I can call him an idiot.

Again, I have no idea why the writers thought any of this worked. It worked on some level for me until she found out anyway, then none of it made any kind of sense.

And it's not a long distance relationship when Barry can run over to where ever she moving to in seconds.
