Has anyone noticed that Reverse Flash never runs without his cowl on? I also noticed that once the cowl goes on the red eyes light up. So . . . does RF have to have the cowl on (his speed does not activate until the cowl is over his head) in order to have his superspeed? In the comics did Eobard coat his costume with the replicated chemical mixture or is the chemical mixture part of his chemistry/DNA/was ingested?

In the comics, Eobard got his powers in a similar way as Barry did. And in the last season, we actually DO see him run without his costume and mask, but in the guise of Dr. Wells. He doesn't need the suit to have his Superspeed.

Example #1: Remember when Pied Piper attacked Dr. Wells at his house? Dr. Wells was without his costume and he avoided the falling glass ceiling by running at superspeed.

Example #2: Also, he see him out of costume again and then lose his speed as he falls down on the floor while in a hallway, but this is not because he needs the suit, it's because he needs the Speed Force and at this point it was still in it's infant stage because Barry Allen is the one that creates the Speed Force. Without the Speed Force, Eobard has no Superspeed. AND before you mention something about the latest episode, Barry Allen is more experienced and the Speed Force is most likely bigger now. So even if for a limited time, Eobard can still run at Superspeed even in Barry's time. He just happens to be akin to a car with a gas tank when in Barry's time.

Example #3: Once more, without his costume on, Dr. Wells was annoyed with Eddie talking so much. He used Superspeed to come right up to Eddie's face and his eyes glowed red on top of that.

So, in saying all that, Eobard does not need his costume to have his speed since he has been shown plenty of times using it without his costume.

I replayed the last scene from last week many many times. Gideon definitely says "Professor Stein." I was hoping this RF would be heroic and would team up with Barry to defeat Zoom. Oh well . . .

So, I was right after all. Good to be vindicated! \:\)

Pardon my ignorance but . . . can someone tell me how, in the comic book, Wally gets his superspeed?

Same way Barry does.

I must say that I have really enjoy watching Tom Cavanagh's performances of both Eobard Thawne/Dr. Wells and Earth 2 Dr. Wells. He certainly still maintains that sinister underbelly that is so compelling.

I don't like him as much in this season but I do enjoy his performance as well.

Finally, where is the Earth 2 RF? My understanding of last nights episode was the RF shown was a RF from Earth Prime in the future.

You are correct. And it doesn't make sense because Eddie killed himself and the explanation given in the episode is extremely weak. RF should NOT exist. Period.

This one is the worst by far.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
