Quote:The costume was basically the TV version of the New 52 Jay Garrick costume.
Quote:It clearly is a muscle suit, granted Shipp is in fairly good shape for his age, but it is still a muscle suit.
I can only assume the Teddy Sears suit would not fit him, which is a shame, as Shipp would have worn that tunic just as well as he did. Recasting Jay/Flash as an older man is a daring decision that I commend the production team on and the charismatic Shipp is a fine choice to place in the role as he embodies the best traits that Jay showed in the books. Assuming he reappears as a semi-regular his relationship with Barry will be an interesting one that mirrors the comicbooks version back in the day, with Jay being Barry's inspirational figure and no doubt a surrogate father too.
Where the series goes now is anyones guess.
Well I hope Shipp does return as Jay. As Shipp stated in an interview the Henry Allen character was pretty much used up. I knew as soon as he said he was back to stay, that was the kiss of death for Henry.
The one thing they could have done in this episode too is to have been playing the 90's series theme in the background for a bit in the last scene before they zip into the portal.
