    WHO will he be?

I'm betting on Earth 1 Wells, not RF

I HOPE this is true. This would mean:

1. Reverse Flash doesn't get erased at the end of season 1 because Barry stops him in the past. That also means that particular timeline will no longer exist.

2. If Barry stops Eobard Thawne in the past and prevents him from killing Dr. Wells, then that means Eddie Thawne doesn't die. *Crosses fingers that Eddie will not return as a regular for season 3*

3. If both of the above happen, that fixes the Time Paradox that says the Reverse Flash should not exist since he was erased from existence at the end of season 1 then miraculously showing up in season 2 with a cop-out explanation.

If the above conditions are met, the Showrunners will make a big leap towards fixing some of the glaring problems they created throughout season 2.

Frankly, Tom should have been playing Earh-Prime Dr. Wells through season 1 not Earth-2 Dr. Wells.

RF began making paradoxes the instant he got his powers as he was fulfilling history by becoming the Reverse Flash, time traveling nemesis of the Flash.

The whole saga of Flash vs Reverse Flash can be called a moebius strip, or predestined paradox.

Now this whole thing about RF showing up in Season 2, yes Eddie is dead and thus RF is erased. However the singularity/time storm was aborted and destroyed by Flash and Firestorm/Ronnie. Thus I suspect that not all temporal changes that SHOULD have occurred did occur. Also there have been other time travel stories where time travelers still exist despite timeline changes and/or retaining their memories of what time used to be like.

Rememeber the excellent 90's X-men cartoon? Bishop goes back in Season 1 to save Senator Kelly. In Season 2 we learn that the future still turns out bad because of a plague that was unleashed. Forge doesn't remember about the assassination of Kelly since it never happened and that unlike Bishop who was outside of time, Forge's memories would have changed accordingly. Also he didn't know of the X-men which angered Bishop who told him to send him back again. With the aid of Cable, the futures are saved and Bishop returns to find the assassination was indeed stopped and Forge knew nothing of a plague. in an odd error however in all those scenes with them, Wolverine's skeleton was preserved in a tube of fluid despite in one of the scenes the X-men had never existed, etc etc. We'll call that animation error.

So for RF to still exist and appear in Season 2, well by rights it shouldn't have happened but by being outside of time traveling in the speed force he wouldn't be erased. As soon as he emerged from time however the erasure affect should have happened but the temporal ripples created by Eddie's death were either stopped with the time storm/singularity or they are slowly moving through time, similar to Back to the Future 2 when old Biff returned to the future and then started to convulse and collapse as the time changes were starting with him first then all of reality.

Also there is the fact that time happens and major historical events that have happened, must continue to happen and that due to the time paradox of RF existing despite Eddie's death means that RF was still meant to go back and make his attempt on kid Barry then have to recreate the Flash.

Now Barry has made yet another paradox in his attempt to fix things. He has undone Season 1 as we see his Season 1 self fade away. However Barry in his selfishness and grief has affected over 15 years of time. It is one thing to go back and revise 24 hours worth of time, that is an overall MINOR thing that can still have some bad effects. But 15 years....

.....both Doctor Emmet Brown and Doctor Who should take Barry aside and take turns lecturing him on time travel, temporal mechanics and paradoxes while also taking turns beating the stupid out of him.
