[quote]The timeline was "restored" by RF, not by Barry, which is contrary to the narrative at the start of the episodes.

    Quote:
RF made it clear he reset things for HIMSELF and that Barry would have to learn how things were set back for him.

    Quote:
The timeline is not as it was before Barry went to save his mother.  There are changes that he is only just learning and things could get worse before they get better.

I've yet to view the episode, but the point stands that the world is more or less back to normal with a small degree of latitude left over for writers to revise certain details of the series canon and cast.
When this storyline was first revealed at the end of last season the indicators were that it would last several episodes and that has now been heavily reduced.
The growing problem with The Flash is that three series on is is recycling itself, same plots, same cast of actors returning in new/same roles, and a title character who is not developing, learning, or growing. At all.
I can't believe the producers are not aware of the problem in standing still like this as all are experienced capable showrunners and professionals, whatever is left as anomalous in the aftermath of Barry Allen's recklessness is what he now has to live with, but as far as I am aware the alterations are relatively minor and the series carries on as is... and yet from all available evidence such was not the original conception when planning for the third series was first discussed.
