Tossing in spoiler tag as precaution.

1. The show's timeline is based on the fact that RF goes back and kills Nora Allen.

2. A future Barry goes back to stop him and has to save his young self.

3. This whole event prevents Barry from becoming the Flash now, and RF loses his powers and connection to the speed force.

4. RF then absorbs Harrison Wells and uses his future knowledge and Wells genius to build the particle accelerator and trigger the creation of the Flash a few years sooner then had previously occurred. Thus altering the timeline for Flash and well, everyone.

Thus they were living in a "flashpoint" or "reverse flashpoint" timeline before Barry went back and made his own Flashpoint by saving his mother.

Conclusion: something will necessitate The Flash to stop RF's time travel in the first place, thus setting the timeline back to how it was.

You're forgetting those red skies in the year 2024.
