He was wiped out and killed off in the Flash season 1 finale as well.

Really it's impossible to make sense of continuity with Flash and Legends rewriting time all the time. Hell I don't think I understood it was really Eobard during last year's Nazi crossover...I just thought that was Nazi Harrison not Eobard.

Maybe the only way that he can really stay dead is if Barry died, as he helped to create the Flash?
