Quote:Well I am right handed and have some archery skill and some gun skill.
Quote:Generally speaking a gun is designed to be held and used with the right hand and that is the damaged part of Diggle. From what I saw his left hand and arm is undamaged, at least for now. The left hand is used to help keep the gun steady when shooting with two hands, such as on a range or when going for a precision shot like Diggle was in the fight. But in this case since the right hand is the main hand holding the gun with finger on the trigger, that is the hand doing the main holding and aiming of the gun. His tremor would make that very difficult and dangerous.
Quote:With a bow and arrow, the tendency is to use the left arm to hold the bow while the right arm which tends to be the dominant/stronger arm pulls the string back to fire. Diggles left arm should be the one that is holding the bow itself steady for him to aim and fire. The right hand will be a problem but it should not be as bad as with a gun.
Quote:Also Diggle is not the bow-master that Oliver is. He is good yes, but as I recall when he briefly suited up before he was using more then arrows. So he will likely still use Diggle fighting style and throwing knives and weapons to compensate for possible deficiency with the bow and arrow.
Quote:Now if Diggle were ambidextrous as we found out about Golgo 13 in the final episode of his anime series, this injury wouldn't be as big a problem as he could fire guns with his left hand as the primary hand.
Quote:However Diggle has shown no signs of that particular skill set so far.
Quote:Besides, this injury of his is the macguffin that will either mean Roy returns and suits up as GA or Oliver comes out of retirement to save the day.
Quote:Just like in the comics themselves, the original won't be retired for too long.
Okay that makes some sense, maybe.
Thanks for taking the time to explain it.
The show has done an extremely poor job of explaining it. Diggle said he had nerve damage from the explosion. He didn't say it was localized to one arm that I can remember.
And it looks to me that he still fights with both hands. Though I haven't been watching all that closely.
