To my knowledge this has not been done in all the years of the GL book, but I could be wrong.

We've seen him in flashbacks, and we saw a prerecorded message of him when Hal was shot and dying, and his ghost did help Hal get out of Nekron's realm in the old Tales of the GLC mini series when they fought Nekron and Krona.

But about a story where some type of timewarp has occurred and coming from the past to the present......ABIN SUR!

Abin will get to see the future, learn of the spectrum war, the corrupt Guardians and their demise, Parallax, Sinestro going renegade, he would get to meet his successor Hal Jordan and work with him, and perhaps give him some advanced training and knowledge of the power rings.

Also imagine what Abin would think of Sinestro going renegade....those two were friends, so I'd imagine Abin Sur would have a few choice words for his old friend.

Add to the story of course the temporal ramifications of Abin being in the present and the ever present danger that if he dies in the present then the past completely changes.

Also I believe once upon a time they did a story where Abin met Alan Scott....I think. Perhaps Abin could help restore Alan to the DC universe from all this rebirth junk and then we'd get an Abin/Alan/Hal team up.

Could be a lot of fun.

Honestly, I'm kind of sick of this trope happening, unless there's some really good reason for it.

Hmm... wonder if Lagzia is still around in New52.
