Who is your favorite jungle-based heroine? Mine is Nyoka, the Jung;e Girl . I have read a few Fawcett and Charlton stories that have been reprinted by AC and have also seen a chapter serial. Although some say that Nyoka is based on an Edgar Rice Burroughs story, Nyoka is not a female version of Tarzan. Nyoka could though be a "sister" of Jungle Jim , one of my favorite adventurers originally published as a King Feature comic strip. As such, Nyoka is not dressed in animal skins and can have adventures in the jungle or in other parts of the world without stretching the plots. On the other hand, my next favorite jungle heroine is Sheena.

I've seen a couple of the serials, but the heroines kind'a get jumbled together in my head. ;\) It cracked me up when I saw one of the serials for the first time and was EASILY able to spot a stuntMAN in one of the fight scenes! That was NOT the time to admire the heroine's legs! LOL \:D
